WASHINGTON – United States Trade Representative Katherine Tai spoke with Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis and reiterated the United States’ strong support for Lithuania in the face of foreign threats to its economy.
Ambassador Tai and Minister Landsbergis emphasized the core values shared between the U.S. and the EU, including respect for human rights, environmental protection, the rule of law, and regulatory transparency, among others. They discussed how the U.S. and the EU can address the shared challenges from China and other non-market economies, and noted the important role the U.S. – EU Trade and Technology Council (TTC) can play in strengthening the U.S.-EU trade and investment relationship.
Ambassador Tai and Minister Landsbergis agreed to stay in regular communication and identify areas to strengthen the U.S. – Lithuanian economic relationship.
