Readout of Ambassador Katherine Tai’s Meeting with the American Chamber of Commerce To The European Union And BusinessEurope

BRUSSELS – United States Trade Representative Katherine Tai and Deputy United States Trade a Representative Jayme White today participated in a roundtable discussion hosted by the American Chamber of Commerce to the European Union (AmCham EU). Representatives from BusinessEurope, a federation of national business associations, also attended. 

Ambassador Tai discussed her efforts to strengthen the transatlantic trade and investment relationship and identified steps the business community can take to support the Biden-Harris Administration’s worker-centric trade policy. Ambassador Tai and the attendees highlighted the successful launch of the U.S.-EU Trade and Technology Council (TTC) and the important role of all stakeholders in advancing the TTC agenda. They also exchanged views on WTO reform, an equitable pandemic recovery, and tackling the challenges posed by non-market economies. Ambassador Tai closed by emphasizing the importance of sustained engagement with the businesses community.
