WASHINGTON – United States Trade Representative Katherine Tai today met with Honduras’ Secretary for Economic Development, María Antonia Rivera. They discussed the importance of creating economic opportunities, combatting corruption, and strengthening democracy in Central America. They also highlighted the integral role of the Dominican Republic-Central America-United States Free Trade Agreement (CAFTA-DR) in building prosperity in the region.
Both countries committed to strengthening implementation of the CAFTA-DR and optimizing the Agreement’s potential through regional integration, facilitating trade, and capacity building. Ambassador Tai and Secretary Rivera agreed that their teams should stay in regular communication on these important issues.
