U.S. goods imports from the Caribbean totaled $19.1 billion in 2025, down 0.9 percent ($174 million) from 2024. The U.S. goods trade surplus with the Caribbean was $12.5 billion in 2025, a 12.0 percent increase ($1.3 billion) over 2024.
Antigua and Barbuda Trade Summary
U.S. goods trade with Antigua and Barbuda totaled an estimated $467.3 million in 2025. U.S. goods exports to Antigua and Barbuda in 2025 were $454.6 million, down 19.9 percent ($112.8 million) from 2024. U.S. goods imports from Antigua and Barbuda totaled $12.6 million in 2025, down 46.7 percent ($11.1 million) from 2024. The U.S. goods trade surplus with Antigua and Barbuda was $442 million in 2025, a 18.7 percent decrease ($101.7 million) over 2024.

U.S. total services trade (exports plus imports) with Cuba totaled an estimated $900 million in 2024. U.S. services exports to Cuba in 2024 were $362 million, up 26.1 percent ($75 million) from 2023. U.S. services imports from Cuba in 2024 were $538 million, up 1.7 percent ($9 million) from 2023. The U.S. services trade deficit with Cuba was $176 million in 2024, a 27.3 percent decrease ($66 million) over 2023.
Initiatives
On July 20, 2015, Cuba and the United States reopened their respective embassies and reestablished diplomatic relations. However, the U.S. trade embargo with Cuba remains in place and most transactions between the United States and Cuba continue to be prohibited.
Since 2000, certain U.S. exports of agricultural goods and medical devices have been permitted. Other items authorized for export more recently include certain building materials for private residential construction, goods and services for use by private sector Cuban entrepreneurs, and agricultural equipment for small farmers.
Regarding imports from Cuba, importation of certain goods and services produced by independent Cuban entrepreneurs is allowed.
