Readout of Ambassador Katherine Tai and Ambassador Jayme White’s Tour Of Argo AI

PITTSBURGH – United States Trade Representative Katherine Tai and Deputy United States Trade Representative Jayme White today toured the Argo AI’s U.S. headquarters in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo, Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, European Commission Executive Vice President Valdis Dombrovskis, European Commission Executive Vice President Margrethe Vestager, and Ambassador of the European Union to the United States Stavros Lambrinidis were also in attendance.

During the tour, Ambassador Tai received a comprehensive briefing on the innovative technology powering autonomous vehicles and the outlook for increased production in the United States and in Europe. The tour was followed by a discussion with Argo leadership on semiconductor manufacturing, and autonomous vehicle policies. They also met with Argo employees about the career opportunities in emerging technologies and the importance of expanding access to critical workforce development programs that prepare American workers for the jobs of tomorrow.
