Statement from Ambassador Katherine Tai on Hispanic Heritage Month

September 15, 2021

WASHINGTON – United States Trade Representative Katherine Tai today released the following statement on Hispanic Heritage Month:

“Over the next month, we will celebrate the rich history and many contributions of the Hispanic community. As one of the fastest growing demographics in our country, this community will play a crucial role in our collective success – and we must do all we can to provide its members the opportunity to thrive.

“As United States Trade Representative, I am committed to supporting the Hispanic community’s success by creating a level and fair playing field for our businesses and standing up for workers’ rights. Developing an inclusive trade agenda where Hispanic Americans have a seat at the table will ensure our policies strengthen the dignity of work, provide good wages, and advance the needs of underserved communities, women, and workers. And in doing so, we will be paving the way for the next generation of Hispanic entrepreneurs and workers to achieve the American dream.”
