WASHINGTON – United States Trade Representative Katherine Tai met today with Ireland’s Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment Leo Varadkar.
Ambassador Tai discussed the U.S – EU Trade and Technology Council (TTC) meeting this week and emphasized that the TTC serves as an important platform to expand transatlantic trade and investment, strengthen our competitiveness and improve outcomes for our workers and citizens. She also highlighted the Biden-Harris Administration’s support for a strong global minimum tax, and explained how this policy could achieve more equitable and inclusive economic growth.
Ambassador Tai and Minister Varadkar also discussed the successful resolution of the Large Civil Aircraft dispute and the importance of cooperating to address the challenges posed by non-market economies that undermine American and Irish workers and businesses. Lastly, Ambassador Tai reiterated the Biden-Harris Administration’s support for the Good Friday Agreement.
