WASHINGTON – United States Trade Representative Katherine Tai today met with Vietnam Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to discuss the importance of the bilateral trade and investment relationship between the two countries. Ambassador Tai emphasized the long history of the United States and Vietnam working together on trade issues, including through the U.S. – Vietnam Bilateral Trade Agreement and the U.S. – Vietnam Trade and Investment Framework Agreement.
Ambassador Tai outlined the Biden-Harris Administration’s plans to develop an Indo-Pacific Economic Framework that delivers concrete, economically meaningful benefits to the region. She underscored the United States’ commitment to continue to working with Vietnam on key economic, trade, and investment issues moving forward.
