Readout of Ambassador Katherine Tai's Meeting with Indonesian Minister of Trade Muhammad Lutfi

WASHINGTON – United States Trade Representative Katherine Tai and Deputy United States Trade Representative Sarah Bianchi today met with Indonesian Minister of Trade Muhammad Lutfi. 
 
Ambassador Tai and Minister Lutfi reaffirmed the importance of the trade and investment relationship between the United States and Indonesia, and discussed shared areas of interest, including coordinating on digital economy issues and building resilient supply chains.  Ambassador Tai provided updates on the Biden-Harris Administration’s plans to develop an Indo-Pacific Economic Framework that delivers concrete, economically meaningful benefits to people in the region.  Ambassador Tai also highlighted her commitment to developing trade policies that incentivize resilient and sustainable economic growth after the COVID-19 pandemic. 
 
Ambassador Tai and Minister Lutfi agreed to remain in contact on these issues and other bilateral economic priorities, and looked forward to holding a U.S.-Indonesia Trade and Investment Framework Agreement meeting later this year.
