WASHINGTON – United States Trade Representative Katherine Tai today met with Colombia’s Minister of Commerce, Industry and Tourism Ximena Lombana to mark the 10th anniversary of the United States - Colombia Trade Promotion Agreement (CTPA). They agreed that the CTPA provides a foundation for our important bilateral relationship and expressed hope that the engagement between the United States and Colombia under the CTPA will continue to deepen going forward.
Ambassador Tai emphasized the important partnership with Colombia, and highlighted that Colombia is our 4th largest goods and services trading partner in the Western Hemisphere. She stressed the need to work together on shared priorities, including on labor and environmental issues.
Ambassador Tai and Minister Lombana agreed to stay in touch on these, and other important issues, in the days ahead.
