WASHINGTON – Yesterday, Ambassador Jamieson Greer participated in a fireside chat at the Silverado Policy Accelerator Summit on “Securing the Next American Era.” During his discussion with Sarah Stewart, Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of Silverado Policy Accelerator, Ambassador Greer highlighted how President Trump’s tariff program is advancing the prosperity of Americans today and future generations by resetting our trade policy to better serve our domestic policy goals. Ambassador Greer noted how the trade policy of the past encouraged the hollowing out of American industrial capacity and decimated communities across the country, but President Trump’s American First Trade Policy is bolstering economic security while promoting a production economy.
"The United States continues taking bold action to lay the foundation for a new economic order premised on the principles of fairness and balance—all pursued in support of economic and national security,” said Ambassador Greer. “Agreements on Reciprocal Trade are the centerpiece of this effort as their terms with our trading partners lower long-standing barriers and tariffs while increasing market access for U.S. exports, better protecting American workers and businesses who power our industrial base.”
