Ambassador Jayme White to Travel to Mexico City, Mexico

September 15, 2023

WASHINGTON – Deputy United States Trade Representative Jayme White will travel to Mexico City, Mexico from September 19-21, 2023.

On September 21, Ambassador White will participate in the 2nd United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) Small- and Medium-Sized Enterprise (SME) Dialogue. Ambassador White’s opening remarks from this event will be open press.

The USMCA SME Dialogue brings together SME businesses and stakeholders, including those representing underserved communities, with government officials to discuss strengthening regional trade and investment with the USMCA, enhancing cooperation on issues of mutual interest to SMEs, and helping more small businesses benefit from the USMCA. Working together, we can foster increased growth, strengthen regional economic integration, and build resilient supply chains across North America.

On the margins of the SME Dialogue, Ambassador White will participate in bilateral meetings with Mexico’s Undersecretary of Economy for Foreign Trade, Alejandro Encinas, and Canada’s Deputy Minister for International Trade, Rob Stewart. Ambassador White will also meet with women SME leaders to discuss how our governments can create more opportunities for entrepreneurs. These meetings will be closed press.

The first USMCA SME Dialogue was hosted by the United States in April 2022 in San Antonio, Texas.
