WASHINGTON – United States Trade Representative Katherine Tai today met virtually with Taiwan Minister-Without-Portfolio John Deng.
Ambassador Tai and Minister Deng reviewed the ongoing progress on bilateral trade issues since the convening of the 11th Trade and Investment Framework Agreement (TIFA) Council meeting, held under the auspices of the American Institute in Taiwan (AIT) and the Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office in the United States (TECRO) in June 2021. They also discussed their mutual interest in working together on issues of common concern, including regionally and in multilateral organizations like the World Trade Organization.
Ambassador Tai and Minister Deng agreed to remain in contact on these and other issues in the coming months.
Today’s meeting was held under the auspices of AIT and TECRO.
