Readout of Ambassador Katherine Tai’s Roundtable with Singapore Labor Stakeholders

SINGAPORE – United States Trade Representative Katherine Tai and Singapore’s Minister for Manpower Tan See Leng today co-chaired a roundtable discussion with representatives of Singapore’s National Trades Union Congress (NTUC) and National Employers Federation.

During the roundtable, Ambassador Tai highlighted the Biden-Harris Administration’s commitment to ensuring that the benefits of trade are shared and experienced by all.

Ambassador Tai also detailed the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework and the work to ensure that its trade pillar reflects the values of the Biden-Harris Administration’s worker-centered trade policy.  Ambassador Tai thanked the participants for the opportunity to hear about their experiences in working collaboratively with the government to address not only the needs and aspirations of Singapore’s workers, but also the challenges and opportunities on the horizon.

Ambassador Tai said she is excited to continue working with Minister Tan and the organizations represented at the roundtable to develop trade policies that promote equitable and inclusive economic growth.
