Scott Pietan is the Acting Assistant U.S. Trade Representative for Japan, Korea and APEC. Mr. Pietan has over 23 years of trade experience with the U.S. government. His time includes 18 years in the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative where Mr. Pietan also served as Deputy Assistant U.S. Trade Representative for Korea, Deputy Assistant USTR for APEC, Director of International Procurement Policy, and Director of Industry Trade Policy. Prior to USTR, Mr. Pietan served as an economist in the International Trade Administration, Department of Commerce and as a Peace Corps volunteer in Belize. Mr. Pietan has a BA in history from Hampden-Sydney College and a MA in international relations from Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies.
