Neil Beck

Neil Beck is the Assistant U.S. Trade Representative (AUSTR) for WTO and Multilateral Affairs. In this role, he oversees USTR’s work on trade-related issues in the G7, G20, OECD, and the WTO. He also oversees work on various trade-related disciplines, including customs and trade facilitation, economic security, good regulatory practices, government procurement, rules of origin, state-owned enterprises, subsidies, technical barriers to trade, and trade remedies. Prior to becoming AUSTR, he served as Deputy Assistant U.S. Trade Representative in the same office and led USTR’s work in the G7, G20, and various WTO workstreams.

Previously, Neil was posted to the U.S. Mission to the WTO in Geneva, where he covered a variety of negotiating bodies and committees. He began his career at Deloitte and later worked at the National Bureau of Asian Research. He earned a JD cum laude at Michigan Law School and a MPA at the Harvard Kennedy School, where he focused on national security and trade.
