Statement by Ambassador Katherine Tai Celebrating Arab American Heritage Month

April 03, 2023

WASHINGTON – United States Trade Representative Katherine Tai today released the following statement to commemorate Arab American Heritage Month.

“The culture and contributions of Arab Americans have become deeply woven into the fabric of our nation’s history. For decades, Arab Americans have been drivers of cultural, religious, and economic advocacy in every corner of our great country. This April, we celebrate the historical and modern-day contributions of Arab Americans, while committing to economic solutions that ensure a prosperous future.

“The contributions of Arab Americans reach far and wide and span countless sectors. From the arts, economics, and STEM fields to businesses, faith communities, and our military, their impact aids us in our collective effort to refine the Great American experiment to be more vibrant, inclusive, and morally sound.

“The Biden-Harris Administration also recognizes the unique challenges Arab Americans face and USTR is confronting those burdens with inclusive policies that uplift minority-owned businesses and immigrant-led initiatives to create an attainable American dream for all communities.

“In keeping with the Biden-Harris Administration’s core principles of equity and fairness, USTR remains dedicated to producing a sustainable, worker-centered economy that benefits historically overlooked communities, including Arab Americans."
