WASHINGTON - Deputy United States Trade Representative Jayme White today met with the United Kingdom’s Minister of State at the Department for Business and Trade, Nigel Huddleston. Ambassador White and Minister Huddleston discussed progress on U.S. - UK trade engagement following their March 30 meeting. Today’s meeting builds on the March 13 meeting between President Biden and Prime Minister Sunak and the March 15 call between United States Trade Representative Katherine Tai and UK Secretary of State for Business and Trade Kemi Badenoch to identify ways to strengthen the U.S.-UK bilateral economic and trade relationship. Ambassador White and Minister Huddleston also discussed the Inflation Reduction Act and the importance of working together to address global challenges and strengthen transatlantic trade.
Later in the day, Ambassador White and Minister Huddleston attended a reception hosted by the British Ambassador to the United States, Dame Karen Pierce, welcoming the launch of a Mutual Recognition Agreement between the U.S. National Council of Architectural Registration Boards and the UK Architects Registration Board. Ambassador White delivered remarks congratulating the two boards on their accomplishment.
