WASHINGTON – United States Trade Representative Katherine Tai met virtually with French Minister of Economy, Finance, and Recovery, Bruno Le Maire, accompanied by Minister Delegate for Foreign Trade and Economic Attractiveness Franck Riester.
Ambassador Tai and Minister Le Maire discussed the important trade and investment relationship between the United States and France. They committed to strengthening cooperation on shared objectives related to large non-market economies, such as China, forced labor, and trade policy support for climate change objectives. They also discussed their strong interest in resolving the dispute related to large civil aircraft subsidies and addressing global steel and aluminum overcapacity. Ambassador Tai and Minister Le Maire agreed to regular engagement on key issues, including WTO reform.
