WASHINGTON – United States Trade Representative Katherine Tai today met virtually with Australian Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment Dan Tehan.
Ambassador Tai and Minister Tehan discussed the importance of the U.S.-Australian trade relationship and the free trade agreement that has strengthened economic ties between the two countries. They committed to enhanced cooperation on shared objectives related to unfair trading practices of large non-market economies, such as China. They also discussed collaboration on WTO reform, digital trade and regional economic collaboration in the Indo-Pacific, including through APEC. Ambassador Tai and Minister Tehan agreed to regular engagement on key issues.
