APEC Pathfinder Initiatives

APEC Leaders endorsed the use of Pathfinder Initiatives in 2001.  Through APEC Pathfinders, interested APEC economies are able to move forward together on a particular issue with the aim of working towards additional membership or eventual APEC-wide consensus in the future.

Currently, USTR is working to increase participation in the following active Pathfinders:

• Pathfinder on Building Blocks for Facilitating Digital Trade  
• Pathfinder on a Permanent Moratorium on Electronic Transmissions, Including Content Transmitted Electronically
• Pathfinder on Facilitating Trade in Remanufactured Goods
