WASHINGTON – This week, Ambassador Jamieson Greer delivered a virtual address for the Global Forum on Steel Excess Capacity’s Ministerial Meeting. Ambassador Greer highlighted the effective actions taken by the Trump administration to address global steel excess capacity and its impacts, including on U.S. steel producers and workers. He also expressed support for a framework for joint action and invited like-minded partners to take similar steps to more fully address excess capacity and the global market distortions it causes.
“The United States is looking forward to working with other members and our stakeholders in developing this framework, taking effective actions to address excess capacity and its impacts, and restoring a globally level playing field for our workers and producers.”
