ABU DHABI – United States Trade Representative Katherine Tai, Deputy United States Trade Representative María Pagán, and Chief Agricultural Negotiator Doug McKalip participated in the fourth day of the World Trade Organization’s (WTO) 13th Ministerial Conference (MC13).
On February 29, Ambassador Tai had a bilateral meeting with Ethiopia’s Minister of Trade and Regional Integration Dr. Gebremeskel Chala Motalo. During their meeting, Ambassador Tai stressed the importance of United States’ relationship with Ethiopia and conveyed an eagerness to foster the development and implementation of innovative trade policy across the African continent. Ambassador Tai also raised the Administration’s continued concerns regarding ongoing violations of internationally recognized human rights amid the ongoing conflicts and humanitarian crises in Ethiopia.
