    Nevada Depends on World Markets

    • The state’s largest market was Switzerland. Nevada exported $3.4 billion in goods to Switzerland in 2018, representing 31 percent of the state’s total goods exports.
       
    • Switzerland was followed by India ($1.7 billion), Canada ($1.2 billion), China ($917 million), and Mexico ($589 million).

    International Investment Creates Jobs in Nevada

    • In 2015 (latest data available), foreign-controlled companies employed 48,100 Nevada workers. Major sources of foreign investment in Nevada included Canada, the United Kingdom and France.
       
    • Foreign investment in Nevada was responsible for 4.4 percent of the state's total private-industry employment in 2015.

    Nevada’s Major Metropolitan Areas Benefit from Exporting

    • In 2017 (latest data available), the following metropolitan areas in Nevada recorded goods exports: Las Vegas ($2.7 billion), Reno ($2.5 billion), Carson City ($138.9 million).
