Chief Agricultural Negotiator Doug McKalip to Travel to Wisconsin

Chief Agricultural Negotiator Ambassador Doug McKalip will travel to Wisconsin from September 24-25, 2024 to amplify the recent agreement with the Republic of Chile that gives U.S. farmers and producers the opportunity to grow their businesses and to supply Chilean consumers with specialty cheeses and meats using certain terms, including cheddar, gouda, provolone, prosciutto, and salami.

On Tuesday, September 24, Ambassador McKalip will be in Green Bay, Wisconsin to participate in a roundtable discussion with dairy and meat producers, processors, and industry organizations. This roundtable is closed press.

Afterwards, Ambassador McKalip will tour BelGioioso Cheese and meet with company leaders. These meetings are closed press.

On Wednesday, September 25, Ambassador McKalip will be in Turtle Lake, Wisconsin to visit Schuman Cheese-Lake Country Dairy and meet with company leaders. These meetings are closed press.

Ambassador McKalip and White House Domestic Policy Advisor Neera Tanden will be in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin for an Investing in Rural Wisconsin roundtable hosted by the Wisconsin Farmers Union and the U.S. Department of Agriculture. This event is open press. Following the event, Ambassador McKalip and White House Domestic Policy Advisor Neera Tanden will be available for interviews.
