Readout of Ambassador Katherine Tai’s Meeting with European Commission Executive Vice President Valdis Dombrovskis

WASHINGTON – United States Trade Representative Katherine Tai met today with European Commission Executive Vice President Valdis Dombrovskis.    
 
Ambassador Tai and Executive Vice President Dombrovskis discussed strategies for moving forward with negotiations on a Global Arrangement on Sustainable Steel and Aluminum and a U.S.-EU Critical Minerals Agreement. They also discussed the importance of reform at the WTO to make it a more effective, responsive, and inclusive forum for solving today’s global challenges as WTO Members prepare for the 13th Ministerial Conference of the WTO, taking place in February in Abu Dhabi.

Ambassador Tai and Executive Vice President Dombrovskis are looking forward to participating in the fifth Ministerial Meeting of the U.S.-EU Trade and Technology Council (TTC) on January 30 in Washington to further discuss transatlantic cooperation. They also noted the importance of the joint EU-US stakeholder event, “Crafting the Transatlantic Green Marketplace,” taking place on January 31 in Washington, alongside the TTC.
