BERLIN – United States Trade Representative Katherine Tai today met with Germany’s Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, Robert Habeck. Ambassador Tai and Minister Habeck discussed the importance of close transatlantic cooperation, particularly with regard to protecting transatlantic workers and businesses in light of unfair policies and practices from non-market economies.
Ambassador Tai also highlighted the opportunity to strengthen transatlantic cooperation through the U.S.-EU Trade and Technology Council, and work under the German leadership of the G7 to promote key principles of common interest. Ambassador Tai and Minister Habeck agreed to stay in close touch and to meet again soon in Washington, D.C.
