Readout of Ambassador Katherine Tai's Meeting with France's Minister of Economy, Finance and Recovery Bruno Le Maire

PARIS – United States Trade Representative Katherine Tai today met with France’s Minister of Economy, Finance and Recovery Bruno Le Maire. Ambassador Tai began by affirming the importance and strength of U.S.-French cooperation on a range of important global issues, including working together to promote trade policies and practices that deliver inclusive and equitable prosperity for American and French workers. Ambassador Tai commended France for its leadership on transatlantic issues during its current Presidency of the Council of the European Union. 
 

Ambassador Tai and Minister Le Maire exchanged views on a range of global trade issues, including the adverse impact that non-market economic practices have on both U.S. and French businesses and workers.  Ambassador Tai and Minister Le Maire noted the important work that the U.S.-EU Trade and Technology Council is pursuing to address this challenge and other areas of mutual concern, including supply chain resilience.   
 

Ambassador Tai and Minister Le Maire agreed to stay in regular touch on these important issues.
