WASHINGTON – United States Trade Representative Katherine Tai and Ambassador Sarah Bianchi today met with Australian Minister for Trade and Tourism Don Farrell. Ambassador Tai and Minister Farrell discussed the importance and strength of the bilateral trade relationship, which is underpinned by the U.S.-Australia Free Trade Agreement.
They welcomed the ongoing positive and constructive work to develop the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework for Prosperity (IPEF). Ambassador Tai reaffirmed the United States’ goal to pursue a high-standard framework that advances resilience, sustainability, inclusiveness, economic growth, fairness, and competitiveness.
Ambassador Tai and Minister Farrell also discussed the United States’ worker-centered approach to trade, and continued cooperation at the WTO. Ambassador Tai and Minister Farrell agreed to continue regular engagement on key issues.
