WASHINGTON – On Wednesday, August 17, United States Trade Representative Katherine Tai will travel to Des Moines, Iowa. She will join Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack and Congresswoman Cindy Axne [IA-03] for a series of events that will highlight the Biden Administration’s work to expand market access for U.S. farmers, producers, and exporters, and help them bring their goods to customers around the world.
Ambassador Tai will also highlight how the Biden Administration’s recent accomplishments and priorities – including the Inflation Reduction Act and the CHIPS and Science Act – will lower costs for Iowa families, reduce inflation, and help the United States maintain its global competitive edge. Ambassador Tai will also meet with local AAPI leaders and discuss how the Biden Administration’s trade agenda can deliver inclusive economic growth to all communities.
Ambassador Tai will return to Washington, D.C. on Friday, August 19. Additional details on specific events will come at a later date.
