OSAKA – United States Trade Representative Katherine Tai today met with United Kingdom Secretary of State for Business and Trade, Kemi Badenoch, ahead of the G7 Trade Ministers’ Meeting.
Ambassador Tai and Secretary Badenoch discussed the ongoing negotiations on the U.S.-UK Critical Minerals Agreement, which was announced by President Biden and Prime Minister Sunak in June 2023. Ambassador Tai noted the significant progress that the United States and United Kingdom have made to date and encouraged the teams to continue working together.
Ambassador Tai and Secretary Badenoch also discussed ways to intensify bilateral engagement and strengthen the economic and trade relationship between their countries.
Finally, Ambassador Tai thanked Secretary Badenoch for the United Kingdom’s positive and productive contributions to discussions at the World Trade Organization ahead of the 13th Ministerial Conference.
