Ambassador Katherine Tai to Travel to Singapore and Thailand

WASHINGTON  – On November 12 – 15, United States Trade Representative Katherine Tai will travel to Singapore. 

On November 14, Ambassador Tai will meet with Singapore government officials, including Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Lawrence Wong, Minister for Foreign Affairs Vivian Balakrishnan, and Minister for Trade and Industry Gan Kim Yong.

During these meetings, Ambassador Tai will emphasize the importance of strengthening and deepening our bilateral engagement with Singapore.  Ambassador Tai and her counterparts will also discuss the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework, which will promote inclusive economic growth throughout the region.
 
On November 15, Ambassador Tai will attend the Bloomberg New Economy Forum.  She will participate in a moderated conversation with Bloomberg News Deputy Editor-in-Chief Reto Gregori.  For more information, please visit Bloomberg’s website.

On November 16 – 19, Ambassador Tai will be in Bangkok, Thailand for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Ministerial Meeting (AMM) and APEC Economic Leaders' Week Meetings.

Ambassador Tai will meet with her APEC counterparts to discuss how our shared priorities can deliver economic prosperity throughout the Asia-Pacific region and the United States.  Ambassador Tai will also preview the United States’ priorities when it becomes the APEC host economy in 2023.  Last month, the United States announced that Detroit, Michigan will host the APEC Ministers Responsible for Trade meeting in May 2023.
