Ambassador Tai to Travel to Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan

WASHINGTON – United States Trade Representative Katherine Tai will travel to Uzbekistan from June 11 to 12, 2024 and Kazakhstan from June 13 to June 15, 2024.

On Tuesday, June 11th, Ambassador Tai will meet with Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. This meeting is closed press.

Ambassador Tai will meet with Uzbekistan’s First Assistant to the President Saida Mirziyoyeva. This meeting is closed press.

Ambassador Tai will meet with Uzbekistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khodjaev. This meeting is closed press.

Ambassador Tai will meet with Uzbekistan’s Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade Laziz Kudratov. This meeting is closed press.

Ambassador Tai will meet with Uzbekistan’s Minister of Employment and Poverty Reduction Behzod Musaev. This meeting is closed press.

Ambassador Tai will also meet with Uzbek Forum members and International Labor Organization (ILO) trained labor monitors. These meetings are closed press. 

On Wednesday, June 12th, Ambassador Tai will be in Samarkand, Uzbekistan.

Ambassador Tai will meet with Samarkand’s Governor E. Turdimov. This meeting is closed press.

Ambassador Tai will also participate in cultural site visits to major historical landmarks. These site visits are closed press.

On Thursday, June 13th, Ambassador Tai will be in Astana, Kazakhstan.

Ambassador Tai will co-chair a United States – Central Asia Trade and Investment Framework Agreement (TIFA) Council meeting with officials from Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan. This meeting is closed press.

On Friday, June 14th, Ambassador Tai will meet with Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. This meeting is closed press.
