WASHINGTON – United States Trade Representative Katherine Tai today met virtually with International Labor Organization (ILO) Director General Guy Ryder.
Ambassador Tai began by outlining the key principles of the Biden-Harris Administration’s worker-centered trade policy and highlighted the importance of increasing worker representation in regional and multilateral fora. The Ambassador also acknowledged the critical role of ILO in observing the upcoming vote at the Silao facility in Mexico.
Ambassador Tai and Director General Ryder acknowledged the long partnership between the United States and the ILO and also discussed opportunities for continued collaboration on shared priorities, such as initiatives to tackle forced labor.
