YORKVILLE, IL – United States Trade Representative Katherine Tai today visited Aurora Specialty Textiles with Congresswoman Lauren Underwood (IL-14) and held a roundtable with the leaders of women-led manufacturing firms and union workers. Ambassador Tai highlighted the Biden-Harris Administration’s commitment to developing worker-centered trade policies that support small businesses, particularly those owned and operated by women and people of color.

The Ambassador and Congresswoman Underwood also highlighted the importance of quickly passing historic infrastructure investments that will help build a 21st century economy from the bottom up and from the middle out. The bipartisan proposal currently before Congress is a foundational piece of the President’s Build Back Better agenda that will create millions of jobs, repair our roads and bridges, support domestic manufacturing and help the United States maintain its competitive edge in the global economy.
