March 20, 2011

Discussions continued Saturday between officials from USTR, the White House, State and Labor Departments and a high-level Colombian delegation led by Presidential Advisor Catalina Crane to discuss identified issues of concern related to the U.S.-Colombia trade agreement. These issues include the protection of internationally recognized labor rights, the prevention of violence against labor leaders, and the prosecution of the perpetrators of such violence. Following the conclusion of meetings on Saturday evening, officials from the two countries agreed to continue discussions within two weeks.
