USTR Invites Public Participation in Stakeholder Listening Session During Fifth United States-Kenya Strategic Trade and Investment Partnership Negotiating Round

WASHINGTON – The Office of the United State Trade Representative (USTR) will hold a virtual stakeholder listening session regarding the fifth round of negotiations under the United States-Kenya Strategic Trade and Investment Partnership (STIP) on Thursday, May 16, 2024 at 10:00 AM. Kenyan officials from the delegation will join the session.

Those interested in attending this session should RSVP by 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 15.

Background

The United States and Kenya launched the STIP on July 14, 2022, and announced that the two governments would pursue enhanced engagement leading to high standard commitments in a wide range of areas. The goal of the Partnership is to increase investment; promote sustainable and inclusive economic growth; benefit workers, consumers, and businesses (including micro-, small-, and medium-sized enterprises); and support African regional economic integration.
