WASHINGTON – United States Trade Representative Katherine Tai today met virtually with New Zealand Minister of Trade Damien O’Connor. Ambassador Tai and Minister O’Connor discussed the Asian-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Ministers Responsible for Trade (MRT) meeting to be held on June 5, 2021. Ambassador Tai thanked Minister O’Connor for New Zealand hosting APEC this year and the Biden-Harris administration’s support of advancing trade-related commitments among APEC economies to support the region’s recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.
