U.S. Statement on the Terrorist Attack in Nice at the 14th T-TIP Round 14 Press Conference

 Brussels, Belgium
July 15, 2016

(delivered in French)

On behalf of the U.S. government and my American colleagues, I want to express our deepest condolences to the French people, and to our many French colleagues in the T-TIP negotiations, for the horrific terrorist attack last night in Nice, which killed and wounded dozens of innocent people celebrating their country’s glorious history and culture.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and other loved ones of those killed, and we wish a full recovery for the many wounded.

As President Obama said in a statement last night, we stand in solidarity and partnership with France, our oldest ally, as they respond to and recover from this attack.
