Ambassador Froman Welcomes Senate Confirmation of Robert Holleyman

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Trade Representative Michael Froman today welcomed the United States Senate’s vote confirming Robert W. Holleyman II as Deputy United States Trade Representative. Holleyman was nominated in February by President Obama to help spearhead efforts on a range of important trade issues initially including services trade, intellectual property rights and issues impacting the United States’ relationship with countries in South and Central Asia as well as China. 

“The U.S. is the unquestioned global leader in services and technology, but we have only just begun to unlock the opportunity trade can provide in these areas to support American jobs and grow our economy.” said Ambassador Froman. “Robert’s extensive experience in the tech sector will be a tremendous asset in helping us open growing markets to the cutting-edge products that American workers and businesses lead the world in. We are all excited to have him on board.”

Most recently Robert W. Holleyman served as CEO Cloud4Growth, a cloud technology development company that he founded in 2013.  Prior to founding Cloud4Growth, Mr. Holleyman was the President and CEO of BSA | The Software Alliance from 1990 to 2013.  Previously, Mr. Holleyman served as Senior Counsel for the U.S. Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation.  Before serving as Senior Counsel, Mr. Holleyman was Legislative Director and Assistant to former U.S. Senator Russell B. Long.  Mr. Holleyman received a B.A. from Trinity University and a J.D. from Louisiana State University.

Wendy Cutler will continue in her role as deputy overseeing the Trans-Pacific Partnership negotiations, APEC, and trade relations with Korea.
