Ambassador Kirk Meets with the Trade Advisory Committee on Africa

On Tuesday, December 7, Ambassador Kirk met with the Trade Advisory Committee on Africa (TACA). Ambassador Kirk addressed policy priorities for sub-Saharan Africa and the importance of finding ways to facilitate U.S. business in Africa. Deputy U.S. Trade Representative Demetrios Marantis also participated in the meeting. Ambassador Marantis briefed the Committee on the President's new development policy and the implications for Africa. The Committee members provided advice on other topics that included the challenges African countries face with respect to agriculture, financing and business partnerships.

USTR's Office of African Affairs develops and coordinates U.S. trade and investment policy for the 48 countries of sub-Saharan Africa. It leads the negotiation and implementation of U.S. trade agreements and initiatives that further the Administration's economic and development policies in the region
