United States Trade Representative Kirk Arrives in Geneva

Geneva, Switzerland - United States Trade Representative Ron Kirk arrived in Geneva this morning for his first visit to the World Trade Organization as America's top trade negotiator. While here, Ambassador Kirk will meet with WTO Ambassadors and WTO officials.

Monday's meetings include a session with the Group of Latin American and Caribbean Countries (GRULAC), a meeting with the Chairs of WTO negotiating groups, and a working lunch and working dinner with several Ambassadors. Tuesday's meetings will include sessions with Minister Doris Leuthard of Switzerland, the African and Least Developed Countries Groups, a second working lunch with Ambassadors, and meetings with WTO Director-General Pascal Lamy and EU Commissioner Catherine Ashton.

All meetings are closed press. On Wednesday, as announced, Ambassador Kirk will hold a media availability in at 10:00 a.m. in Room D at the WTO.
