WASHINGTON - U.S. Trade Representative Robert B. Zoellick today issued the following statement regarding tax legislation in the House of Representatives related to the Foreign Sales Corporation (FSC) issue:

"Introduction of legislation that would bring the United States into compliance with the WTO findings in the FSC dispute is a very important step. I appreciate Chairman Thomas' leadership on this issue and hope that compliance with our international obligations will enjoy strong bipartisan support. I look forward to working with Chairmen Thomas and Baucus, as well as others from both parties, to that end. As the world's leading exporter, the United States has a strong interest in meeting these obligations."
