MEXICO CITY – United States Trade Representative Katherine Tai today met with Mexico’s Secretary of Labor and Social Welfare Luisa María Alcalde Luján. They discussed the importance of worker rights and reviewed the outcomes of the recent United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA/T-MEC/CUSMA) Labor Council meeting.
Ambassador Tai emphasized her strong desire to continue to work closely with Mexico to fully implement the USMCA labor commitments, including prohibiting the importation of goods produced with forced labor.
