WASHINGTON – United States Trade Representative Katherine Tai and Deputy United States Trade Representative Sarah Bianchi will travel to Tokyo, Seoul, and New Delhi from Tuesday, November 16 until Wednesday, November 24 to meet with government officials and stakeholders. 
 
During the trip, Ambassador Tai and Ambassador Bianchi will discuss ways to strengthen the United States’ bilateral trade and economic relationships with our allies and partners. They will also highlight the Biden-Harris Administration’s vision for developing an economic framework for an Indo-Pacific region that is open, connected, prosperous, resilient, and secure by creating sustainable, resilient, inclusive and competitive trade policies that lift up our people and economies.

Tuesday, November 16, 2021

Ambassador Katherine Tai and Ambassador Sarah Bianchi will arrive in Tokyo, Japan.

Ambassador White will hold a virtual meeting with Ecuador’s Minister of Production, Foreign Trade, Investment and Fisheries Julio José Prado. This meeting is closed press.
 
Wednesday, November 17, 2021

Ambassador Katherine Tai and Ambassador Sarah Bianchi will meet with Japan’s Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Hagiuda Kōichi. There will be a photo spray at the top of the meeting.

Ambassador Tai and Ambassador Bianchi will then meet with Japan’s Chief Cabinet Secretary Matsuno Hirokazu. There will be a photo spray at the top of the meeting.

Ambassador Tai and Ambassador Bianchi will then meet with Japan’s Minister for Foreign Affairs Hayashi Yoshimasa. There will be a photo spray at the top of the meeting.

Friday, November 19, 2021

Ambassador Katherine Tai will meet with South Korea’s Minister of Employment and Labor An Kyung-duk to discuss the Biden-Harris Administration’s worker-centered trade policy and opportunities to promote internationally-recognized worker rights. There will be a photo spray at the top of the meeting.

Ambassador Tai and Ambassador Bianchi will meet Korea’s Minister for Trade Yeo Han-koo, after which Ambassador Tai and Minister Yeo will co-chair the Joint Committee meeting of the United States-Korea Free Trade Agreement (KORUS FTA). 

Ambassador Jayme White will meet with Switzerland’s State Secretary Marie-Gabrielle Ineichen-Fleisch. This meeting is closed press.
