Coverage Plans for Trans-Pacific Partnership

May 25, 2010

Please be advised of USTR plans to accommodate press coverage of the upcoming round of Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) negotiations in San Francisco, California, on June 14-18, 2010.

If your news organization intends to cover TPP negotiations in person, please respond with the name, organization, title, mailing address, phone number, and e-mail address of your designated participant by June 11, 2010. We will respond promptly with credentialing and hotel information.

Each evening following the close of negotiations and delegation meetings for the day, we will update press on developments in the negotiations and the agenda for the following day. These briefings will be conducted by a senior member of the U.S. delegation.

Please be aware that as the negotiations are at an early stage, briefings and discussions will necessarily be general and will not cover specific text or market access proposals.

If your organization is not able to send personnel to this event, you can follow the negotiations through daily e-mail updates and on the USTR website, www.ustr.gov. We will provide regular updates about the negotiations via press releases, blogs, and interviews with senior negotiators. We also plan a full readout for press early in the week following the negotiating round.

If you have any questions about these arrangements, please feel free to contact Amanda Scott at ascott@ustr.eop.gov.
