Deputy Assistant U.S. Trade Representative for Congressional Affairs
Samuel Negatu is the Deputy Assistant U.S. Trade Representative for Congressional Affairs. Mr. Negatu served in the U.S. House of Representatives since 2014, most recently as Legislative Director for Congressman Jimmy Gomez. He also served as a staff negotiator for the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) working group, addressing labor issues in negotiations between USTR and the House Democratic Caucus. A California native, Samuel received his B.A. from the University of California—Santa Barbara, and his J.D. from Washington University in St. Louis.
