Senior Advisor to the U.S. Trade Representative
Mark Wu serves as a Senior Advisor to the U.S. Trade Representative. He rejoins USTR after having spent the past decade teaching at Harvard Law School, where he most recently served as the Henry L. Stimson Professor of Law and Vice Dean for the Graduate Program and International Legal Studies.
While in academia, Mr. Wu served on the Advisory Board of the WTO Chairs Programme and the Global Futures Council for Trade and Investment at the World Economic Forum. He was involved in various research initiatives on trade and international economic issues organized by international organizations, including the G20, OECD, UNCTAD, and World Bank. He also served as a faculty expert for the Fulbright specialist program in India. Before his earlier stint at USTR, he worked as a management consultant at McKinsey & Company. He began his career as an economist and operations officer at the World Bank in Beijing, China.
Mr. Wu received his J.D. from Yale Law School and his M.Sc. in Development Economics from Oxford University, where he was as a Rhodes Scholar. He received his A.B. from Harvard College and spent a year as a Monbusho Fellow at Kyoto University in Japan. He was born and raised in Chicago, IL.
